A Kinah Boto, Kebbie Williams Experience
It was a Wednesday night at Churchill Grounds jazz club in Atlanta and I was blessed, fortunate to witness some honest creativity from two men that I haven't witnessed perform together in seven months. Back in May Kebbie Williams left the states for Amsterdam and I hadn't seen him since. On this particular night he on saxophone, flute, percussion and Kinah Boto on trap drums, Ayah drums, and other percussion, did what they do best when they're together. Explore conventional as well as non-conventional chords, sounds, melodies, cultures etc. Nothing is left unexplored. It was interesting to see how they would begin in a particular place and seem to go in separate directions only to merge at a point create on top of that point then flow into a melody on a beat, then seemingly off then back on, wow leaving us breathless but desperately wanting more. And this was just the two of them. We didn't miss any other instrumentation as the space was clearly covered. Look forward to witnessing this experience again. Thank you sirs....
