Listening to the Music of Bud Powell

Have been hearing about Bud for some time and have listened to some of his music but didn't realize how necessary he is to the music until I popped in "The amazing Bud Powell", a collaboration of pieces he did in 1949 and 1951. Fast, lightning hands. He was often thought of as Charlie Parker on the piano with the fast style but was also an originator of BeBop jazz. I've enjoyed listening to his offerings and look forward to a further study of this legend.
